The Indian traditional hearty recipe will impress you. This flavourful dish is a soup-like dish that is used as a main course dinner and lunch in South India.
First wash the toor dal with water and add the chopped onion, tomato, and green chillies cook well until soft.
In a saucepan, heat the oil and add cumin seeds, mustard seeds, coriander, and dried red chillies and fry them till light brown.
Next, add turmeric powder, salt, tamarind paste, black pepper, and red chillies. With this, now add the cooked toor dal, and stir them well and cook for 4-5 minutes.
Now add 2 cups of water, and when the mixture boils, turn off the heat. Now your rasam recipe is ready to be served and garnish with coriander leaves and serve with a side dish and hot rice.
